Full Job Description

As a Barclays Wealth Planner, you will join the Wealth Management team offering bespoke banking and investment solutions to high net worth clients across the country. Wealth Managers and Wealth Planners work with clients to provide a world class range of investment solutions and products across all asset classes, wealth structuring, lending and banking services, supported by dedicated experts from across the firm. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, 'anchor', days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). What will you be doing?

  • Working closely with a designated group of Wealth Managers to provide full Wealth Planning services to a group of clients

  • Providing highly technical and complex advice, with an emphasis on regulated products

  • Structuring client's affairs in the most efficient way in order to achieve established medium and long term goals

  • Developing and maintaining client relationships and providing financial advice within the UK regulatory framework

  • Taking ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work you do

  • Acting as key contact and recognised as an expert for all Wealth products, and being the key liaison between the customer and other parts of the Barclays group

    RDR Level 4 qualification

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex regulatory requirements effectively, with the ability to relate and accommodate a diverse range of personalities

  • Sound commercial judgement and overall understanding of Financial Services Industry, particularly the business impact of the regulatory environment


  • Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Level 6 qualification in financial planning

  • Previous financial planning experience

  • Experience working for a large organisation
