We sink or swim together., We are seeking a highly organized and dynamic Transport Manager to oversee our fleet operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all transportation-related activities, including planning, budgeting, maintenance, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This role demands exceptional leadership skills, as well as the ability to optimize routes and improve operational efficiencies.

Principle Activities

  • Plan and supervise the day-to-day operations of our transportation fleet, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of goods and services.

  • Develop and implement transport strategies, policies, and processes to improve performance and compliance.

  • Manage budgets, forecasting costs and ensuring that spending remains within limits.

  • Oversee vehicle maintenance, scheduling repairs, and ensuring that all vehicles comply with legal and company standards.

  • Monitor and manage fuel consumption and efficiency, implementing measures to reduce costs and environmental impact.

  • Ensure compliance with all transportation laws, regulations, and company policies, including health and safety standards.

  • Hire, train, and manage a team of drivers and support staff, promoting a culture of safety, team spirit, and high performance.

  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, vendors, and clients to ensure favorable terms.

  • Utilize transport management systems to track shipments, route planning, and to analyze operational performance.

  • Prepare and present reports on transportation metrics, highlighting challenges, successes, and areas for improvement.

    Bachelor's degree in Transport Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for educational qualifications.

  • Proven experience in a transport management role, with a solid track record of improving efficiency and reducing costs.

  • Strong understanding of transport regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the aptitude to make decisions based on data.

  • Proficiency in transport management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
