Full Job Description

As a Technician at Hopetown Darlington, you will be responsible for Health & Safety across the site including daily service monitoring of the Wagon Woods Play Park and external areas. This role will include general day-to-day maintenance across the whole site including reporting faults to suppliers alongside the install of exhibitions and running the technical side of all on-site events. Hopetown Darlington also includes a lot of digital interpretation and technology and this role will be looking after the maintenance and troubleshooting of all of these areas.

Hopetown Darlington opens its doors this summer as the region's most exciting and newest visitor attraction. This ambitious project extends across a 7.5-acre site and will encompass a wagon themed play park, an immersive time travel experience ride, and will even include a gallery to watch live engineering in action. In addition, visitors can enjoy touring exhibitions, a reimagined state of the art museum and entertaining festivals and events for the whole family.

A spacious café and shop are also part of this incredible site which is steeped in Darlington's rail heritage and will offer a family day out like no other. The venue will attract upwards of 300,000 visits annually, of which up to 100,000 are expected to be from outside the region. Hopetown Darlington is seeking inspired and driven individuals who can bring personality, energy and enthusiasm to the team.

As you will be working during the venue opening hours you may be required to deal with customer queries on occasion so a good level of customer service will be expected. You will bring a practical approach to the role which will include working in a shift pattern across the 7 day week, including every other weekend.
