  • As Warehouse Shift Manager you will be responsible for leading your crew, you will maximise the safety, productivity and integrity of the warehouse operations for your shift to ensure optimum efficiency across our Warehouse and various Material Stores.

    Coaching and supporting your 4 Supply Team Operatives, you are responsible for driving the overall performance of your crew (circa 25 operatives), to ensure that demand with inbound deliveries/outbound deliveries and production is met, reacting to the requirements of the business with no compromise to quality for our customers.

    This key Managerial role has full responsibility for the Operatives in your crew, and additional duties include being the Emergency Controller on site. It is vital that you proactively support the site HSE Agenda and ensure compliance to all site Hygiene, Environmental and Health and Safety Regulations, in a busy MHE environment.

    Duties

  • Develop and manage the Shift team by managing performance and behaviours to achieve the defined standards and deliver to all business objectives are delivered.


  • Ensure compliance to all Company Health and Safety and GMP standards at all times, always working in a health and safety conscious manner and aware of any issues that may arise from your own actions.


  • To supervise and manage agreed budgets and capital expenditure specific to your area of control.


  • Ensure all Mandatory training and any MHE training is maintained and recorded within the training team.


  • Ensure regular audits of area and equipment are maintained to comply with BRC standards.


  • Collaboratively work with the Shift Management team to ensure consistent standards are applied and all service expectations and department KPI's are achieved (internal and external).


  • To ensure accurate control of all finished goods, raw materials and packaging, ensuring total traceability of product via the warehouse management system.


  • To ensure the accurate and efficient management of all 3 warehouse functions, particularly receipt, storage and despatch of all finished goods.


  • Support the onsite Toyota teams to maximise available MHE to meets to busniess needs.


  • Manage the AVLS to ensure constant chilled pallet flow. Fault find and resolve using Site Techincal Operators.


  • Ensure Gatehouse is manned and cover as required to maintain the standard for the site.


  • Liasing with Cannington Cold Stores as required.


  • Out of Hours IT Esculation to support Plot 5 and AVLS issues.


  • To be able to resolve conflict and build effective relationships with internal/external customers/suppliers.


  • To manage and develop a shift team to a level that accommodates optimum completion of all required tasks.

    You will have some previous experience of managing a team, and your leadership style should be collaborative and supportive to motivate and empower your team members, for the benefit of each individual and the business. You will be agile and action orientated, and will demonstrate stamina, energy and enthusiasm in a controlled manner. You will role model our Company Values and lead safely at all times.


  • Enjoying a role with daily challenges, you will be able to work independently and have a solutions' focused approach to problem solving. You must be familiar with warehousing performance measurements, an understanding of the requirements of efficient warehousing with a track record of achieving results. Strategically aware, you will understand the big picture and be able to analyse what needs addressing and create a successful plan to change areas that need improvement.
