The Older Adults Team is part of Adult Services and Housing Directorate within Coventry City Council.

Adult Social Care encompasses a wide range of vital services covering;

  • Commissioning Team - we commission and work with a number of providers, to ensure that people with care needs have access to a range of good quality support which is culturally sensitive to enable them to live independent and fulfilling lives

  • Social Work Services - we work with individuals who have care and support needs, and with their carers be they older or younger adults

  • Occupational Therapy and Equipment Services - we aim to enhance people's ability to live safely and independently in their home

  • Internally Provided Services - we provide direct support to people enabling those in most need to live independent and fulfilled lives

  • Business Systems and Continuous Improvement - we provide a range of services including Financial Assessments, provider payment processing and Business Systems administration. The Business Systems team provide support to Adult Social Care, Children's Services and Education Services.


  • What is the job role?

    This is an exciting time to join us as we work to put adults and their carers at the heart of everything we do.

    We are recruiting a Service Manager to provide effective leadership and management of services for adults over the age of 65 in Coventry. The role is responsible for longer-term case management including safeguarding, operating within multi-agency and community settings which are diverse.

    You will efficiently and effectively lead and manage services, ensuring they meet relevant quality standards, are responsive and inclusive, personalised, outcome focused, promote independence and enhance choice and control of people with care and support needs and carers.

    At this exciting time for Adult Social Care, as Service Manager you will lead and contribute to the overall development of service provision in response to new government initiatives, guidance and legislation.

    This post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

    We are looking for an individual with knowledge and experience of working with Older Adults.

    You will have experience of managing large operational services within health or social care services, experience of managing complex budgets and of maintaining services while adhering to tight financial targets.

    We are looking for someone who is adaptable to change, committed to delivering personalised outcomes and has experience in multi / cross agency working at management level and working with ethnically diverse teams and clients.

    You will have a professional qualification in a health or social care discipline and current registration with the relevant professional body as well as evidence of personal development and commitment to learning.
