Full Job Description

Where can a Senior PMO Officer maximise the impact of projects and programmes in an organisation that improves the health of everyone, everywhere?
UK Biobank is helping pioneer new pathways in health, believing that people have the right to live longer and more fulfilling lives.
We're a team aiming to make a difference to millions of people on this planet - and an employer who cares passionately about the diverse range of professionals who have come together to drive our incredible journey.
This role is simply pivotal to that journey. The question is, are you the Senior PMO Officer to maximise the impact of UKB's projects and programmes by providing expertise and insight to deliver the right work, in the right way? Can you bring all stakeholders with you - and in the process take us, and our service delivery to a whole new level?

Can you do it?

The answer is "yes", if you can support decisions on initiatives that deliver the most value, work with the business to set the foundations or success, provide the tools to support planning and delivery using expert advice and insight whilst cultivating cohesion, collaboration, communication, and community between UKB teams.

Providing visibility of what's being delivered across the business, and delivery progress, you will be a trusted 'go-to' person within the PMO, continuously seeking feedback and bringing a depth and breadth of relevant experience in supporting improvements to the service offering. In turn, enabling and empowering us to make our vital work even more impactful, for the benefit of millions of people.
Working hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 2 days in the main office in Cheadle, moving to state of the art new office in Manchester City Centre in 2026.

Our passion for diversity and equity means creating a work environment for all employees that is welcoming, respectful, engaging, and enriched with opportunities for personal and professional development.

Reporting to the PMO Manager, you'll be a hands-on PMO professional with a demonstrable blend of planning, people management, problem solving and communication skills - able to apply a careful approach to decision-making across a variety of stakeholders, focusing on the detail whilst delivering to the 'big picture'.
