Full Job Description

As a Constructability Consultant, you will be working for our clients, on a portfolio of large infrastructure projects including station upgrades, multi-disciplinary rail remodelling schemes and brand new infrastructure, at early design stages. You will have the opportunity to apply lessons learned and the latest innovative construction methodology in order to influence early design stages, and improve the buildability and overall success of future schemes.

You will have a strong understanding of how the railway works as a whole and be able to assess the impact of your work and its interfaces with other teams. This includes an understanding of conventional rail, high-speed rail, or both.

You will be responsible for the provision of rail specific technical engineering knowledge relating to a specific aspect of the railway. Specialist areas include rail specific civil engineering, track, signalling and control, rail systems & integration, traction and rolling stock, rail telecommunications, network and digital and rail electrical, mechanical and building services.

This hybrid role will include flexible working arrangements, although regular attendance to locations such as London, Birmingham, Manchester or Leeds is anticipated.

  • Experience in the construction industry working for railway clients, with knowledge of rail systems, rail delivery & railway track construction interface experience being essential.

  • Member of, or working towards, appropriate professional body or institution (PWI, ICE, IMechE etc.) and/or project management experience (APM or equivalent).

  • Experience working with multidisciplinary designers who have undertaken design implementation including all facets of track design, and the interfaces to other key railway systems disciplines and the operational railway.
