This role is based in the Global Procurement function, which supports Roche's goal of bringing innovative solutions to patients through business and supplier partnerships. We act as the bridge between Roche business functions and our suppliers, delivering value through productivity, speed, risk management, sustainability, innovative solutions, and streamlined buying experiences.

The Opportunity:

As the Procurement Portfolio and Performance Lead, you are crucial in shaping and driving a performance culture and mindset. Your ownership and continuous improvement of our performance, portfolio, and resource management strategy, frameworks, and solutions directly contribute to and enable the value we deliver to Roche and patients.

  • You own and drive the development of our portfolio, performance, and resource management frameworks, including processes, governance, and digital solutions.

  • You lead the development and implementation of procurement performance targets, planning, and tracking realisation, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and industry best practices.

  • You drive continuous improvements and promote change in our portfolio, performance, and resource management solutions, processes, and frameworks to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and adoption.

  • You leverage analytics and data insights to drive performance reviews and enable informed decision-making on prioritisation, resource allocation, and risk management.

  • You collaborate cross-functionally with key procurement stakeholders to integrate performance and portfolio management into our work practices, driving portfolio creation and resource allocation while fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.

  • You mentor and develop a high-performing team, supporting professional growth and development while fostering a culture of accountability, outcomes delivery, and continuous improvement., You have deep procurement expertise, with both passion and the resiliency to help shape the future of our performance-focused culture.

    You hold a Master's degree in business management, supply chain management, finance, or a related field and a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain management, or consulting.

  • You have experience driving or executing performance, portfolio, or resource management activities and a track record of achieving measurable results.

  • You deeply understand core procurement activities and issues and apply knowledge of best practices to maximise the performance and effectiveness of solutions, processes, and services.

  • You have strong analytical and presentation skills, the ability to translate data into actionable insights, and the ability to craft meaningful messages for senior stakeholders and the broader organisation.

  • You are known for your excellent leadership and communication skills, proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams, and agility in adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.


  • Preferred:
  • Exceptionally qualified applicants with many years of relevant experience but without a Master's degree are also encouraged to apply.

  • You are an experienced people manager with at least five years in a leadership role where you have effectively led and developed a team, providing guidance, support, and feedback to drive individual and team performance.

  • You have experience as a procurement category manager (or similar role) and a deep practical understanding of portfolio prioritisation and resource allocation activities.

  • Our UK Pharmaceutical head office is situated in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, with beautiful countryside surrounding the area. Supported by major motorways & airports as well as being a 30 minute train ride to London, access is easy.
