An exciting opportunity has arisen for a housekeeper to join our highly motivated and dynamic team at Borrowdale House.

Borrowdale House is a brand new, bespoke Rehabilitation and Extra Care service in South Tyneside.

We aim to provide the highest quality rehabilitation services to residents from South Tyneside. We are located on Wear Court, South Shields.

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, reliable, hardworking, housekeeper who will work as part of the multiagency team ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment.

Job Summary:
The Housekeepers of Borrowdale House will support operational teams and the Registered Manager to maintain the cleanliness, tidiness and infection, prevention and control processes within all public areas, therapy rooms and individuals flats in Borrowdale House, a reablement extra care scheme within the borough of South Tyneside.

The post holder will ensure that high levels of cleanliness is always maintained, and relevant stock levels of infection, prevention and control materials are always available in public areas and facilities.,

  • Cleaning and tidying assigned areas such as individual's flats, halls, bathrooms, public areas, therapy rooms and offices.

  • Activities are not exhaustive of: Vacuuming, polishing, sweeping, mopping, and emptying bins.

  • Cleaning and disinfecting washrooms and therapy rooms.

  • Cleaning and washing windows and doors in public areas.

  • Carrying out deep cleaning and detailed cleaning tasks as required.

  • Making beds, changing linens, and washing dishes or laundry where needed.

  • Maintaining standards of hygiene and cleanliness.

  • Replenishing supplies such as toiletries, hand towels, toilet rolls.

  • Cleaning and storing housekeeping equipment in safe manner.

  • Ensuring any cleaning chemicals are stored safely and are used in line with COSCHH guidance.

  • Reporting any damages, deficits, disturbances or safety hazards to your registered manager.

  • Promote South Tyneside's council and adult social care strategy.

    Previous experience within a housekeeping or cleaning role.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.

  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as using own initiative.
