Headteacher January 2025 - May Bank Infants' School

Due to the retirement of the current Headteacher, we are looking for a dynamic, passionate and enthusiastic successor, who is experienced in both teaching and leading in Key Stage One and Early Years. This is a good school with many outstanding features and the new Headteacher will lead the school along its pathway of continued improvement, aligning with its ethos and values.

Our new Headteacher must work well with families, school staff, senior leaders, school governors and the wider community, providing strategic leadership for the school. You will have overall responsibility for the leadership and management of the school as well as maintaining and fostering links with external professionals.

Some of the key responsibilities:

• To provide high quality professional leadership and management to further develop the strategic direction, vision, values and priorities of the school whilst maintaining the schools' ethos.


• To ensure a high quality and ambitious education for all pupils in Early Years and Key Stage One, monitoring and maintaining standards of progress and attainment so that all pupils reach their full potential.


• To lead on the provision and oversight of our curriculum, teaching and learning, safeguarding and inclusion.


• Take on the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead with overall responsibility and accountability for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils and families.


• Maintain high expectations of behaviour for all pupils, built upon positive relationships, rules and routines.


• Lead, manage and develop all staff, including appraising and managing their performance Collaborate and work with colleagues and other professionals and agencies within and beyond the school, including school governors and the LA.


• Take responsibility for the Health, Safety and Wellbeing of the children and staff and ensure the school is a safe learning and working environment.


• To act strategically in relation to financial planning so that the budget and resources are deployed in the best interests of all pupils and staff, as well as the continued sustainability of the school.
  
  May Bank Infants' School is a happy, caring and nurturing school with an excellent reputation within the local community. We are a two-form entry school with the capacity for 180 pupils as well as a Governor Led nursery with 32 full-time equivalent places.
