Head of Art

Full Time Permanent Contract

Main Scale/UPS with TLR

From September 2024

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Art and Photography teacher who wishes to lead a successful, supportive, and innovative team. This is a fantastic time to join The Purbeck School, which is currently oversubscribed and thriving.

The Arts are taught through a multi-disciplinary approach, rigorously preparing students by developing artistic skills, idea generation and knowledge necessary for success across the key stages. You would be part of a popular, well resourced and dynamic Arts department.

We are looking for a talented teacher who wants to work as part of a strong team, who is able to teach Art across all three key stages with the potential to offer photography for GCSE and A level.

Please visit our school website for more information and link to apply.

Closing date: Midnight on Sunday 19th May 2024

Interviews will be held on Tuesday date: Tuesday 21st May 2024.

The Purbeck School values the diversity of our workforce and welcomes applications from all members of the community. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and this is a commitment we expect all staff and volunteers to share. The successful candidate will be required to have a Disclosure and Barring Service check in line with the Government safer recruitment guidelines.

This role is UK based and your right to work in the UK will need to be established as part of the appointment process.

Keeping Children Safe in Education

The Purbeck school will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
