Full Job Description

We are looking for a Finance Systems Assistant with strong IT skills, ideally with a finance background to join the Finance Transformation and Risk Team. As an integral part of the Finance team, the Finance Transformation and Risk team are looking to expand to provide key support to the System Accountant and Finance Transformation Analyst. The role will provide support to free up valuable time to enable the team to progress further with system improvements, automation and reducing time spent on manual processes to result in overall performance improvement.

As a Finance Systems Assistant, you can expect to:

  • Assist System Accountant in providing daily support in the administration of SAP and the delivery of new systems developments. This may include training, testing and business change aspects support.

  • Assist System Accountant in the management and investigations of all Financial Systems Interfaces issues (such as NMS, CHIME, Durabill, eTC, Tagetik, TVS)

  • Sharing Finance Systems mailbox with System Accountant and assist in resolving issues reported.

  • Assist in SAP roles access & Authorisations and downloading of SAP Security audit reports for monthly Governance review and analysis.

  • Preparing monthly R&A governance meeting minutes/actions update.

  • Maintain SAP leavers- Ensure leaver access is removed from SAP within 3 working days of leave date provided by HR. Ensure temporary lock administered on accounts for people on long term leave (e.g. maternity).

  • Maintain SAP System Locks- (Un)Lock Periods / Cost centres / Cost elements / Projects / Orders upon request from authorised person.

  • Serves as a cover to support finance system while System Accountant is on holiday.

  • Create orders- Create Job / Statistical / CIFM Orders when requested.

  • Maintain Variants- Maintain variants in SAP and schedules in Tagetik to ensure automatic loads function correctly.

  • Support the System Accountant and Finance Transformation Analyst during the annual IT audit of financial systems.

    To be successful in this role, you will need to be educated to A-level standard with good grades in Maths and English as a minimum. You will also require the following:

  • 2-3 years experience in a relevant finance environment

  • Advanced computer literacy skills

  • Knowledge of the structure of finance systems and financial reporting

  • Good communication skills at all levels, both verbal and written

  • Ability to prioritise and control workload arising from a broad user base

  • Well developed skills with regard to report writing, problem solving, analytical skills and presentation skills

  • Must be stakeholder focused and have the ability to work constructively both individually and in a team environment

  • Accounting Knowledge desirable
