Full Job Description

Our Kingsbury factory specialises in manufacturing bricks for the building/construction industry. As a Fabricator Welder, you will be part of the inhouse team who keep the plant running and the equipment running smoothly.

You will work with the Maintenance Manager and Production team to ensure the dryer car fleet and kiln car fleet are maintained

Duties include:

  • Maintain the metal support structure of the kiln car and dryer car fleet

  • Remove corroded metal parts using the appropriate power tools

  • Welding / repairs using appropriate equipment

  • Define materials / consumable requirements list for the work plan

  • Aid the production team in removing /replacing the refractory supports in kiln cars

  • Assist the maintenance department as required

  • Actively take part in the PIP Programme

  • Participate in the PIP process and support the 5S's and visual management techniques


  • We will provide you with full training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to enable you to safely and effectively work as part of our maintenance team.

    You will be an experienced fabricator/welder with experience of working in a manufacturing/factory environment.

    Safety is our biggest priority, so you'll be committed to safe working and have strong experience of health and safety best practice.

    You'll enjoy working in a busy environment where you can roll your sleeves up and get hands-on. You will also be flexible in your approach, focusing on the changing day-to-day priorities, which will enable the factory to continue to run efficiently.

    As this role is sometimes physically demanding, you'll be fit enough to perform the various duties.,
  • Be proficient in measuring equipment such as micrometres, verniers gauges, bore gauges, metric & imperial measurements

  • Have bench work experience

  • Have a good understanding and ability to work from engineering drawings

  • Be able to work with a flexible and lateral thinking approach to problem solving

  • Have experience in MIG and oxyacetylene

  • Have experience in use of handheld power tools - Angle grinder etc

  • Have experience in operating surface grinders, band saw and pillar d
