Full Job Description

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive Employee Relations (ER) management support to our business pillar operations. As the ER Specialist, you'll provide line management and will work closely with the Senior HR Advisors to ensure compliance and delivery of excellent guidance to managers on employment matters. You'll also project manage the ER root cause analysis programme, which aims to understand, investigate, and improve how we provide support to line managers and colleagues. The project aims to highlight key areas of focus and by pinpointing and addressing the core issues, we aim to refine the organisational practices, thereby elevating the overall experience for our colleagues.,

  • Manage the ER Operations with the business pillar and provide line management and coaching support to the Senior HR Advisor, as well as handling an employee relations caseload.

  • Project Manage the ER Root cause analysis programme, reporting into Strategic HR Business Partnering function, providing analysis of findings and suggestions for continuous improvement, utilising a risk-based approach.

  • Develop robust relationships with managers to influence and support them in delivering on their business objectives. Advise managers and employees in delivering change, facilitating effective consultation, and advising on the legal and ER aspects of change proposals, utilising a risk-based approach.

  • To provide advice, coaching and support to managers on all employee relations people management matters including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, attendance management etc.

  • Where required, produce month end reports and other ad-hoc reports as required, and conduct analysis to identify trends and areas of improvement. Meet with department managers on a regular basis to present analysis of ER trends within their departments and work with these managers to identify improvements. Where possible use this data to support the root cause programme.

  • To ensure compliance with company and other relevant standards/ FCA regulations at all times (including Consumer Duty).

  • You've worked within the Insurance or Financial Services sector - although this isn't essential - but is highly advantageous., Experience of working in a similar role, ideally in the Financial Services industry.

  • Experience of line managing and coaching direct reports.

  • Solid project management and implementation experience.

  • Solid employee relations and employment law experience.

  • Experience of conducting MI analysis.

  • Experience of using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and ideally MS Project.

  • Awareness of SMCR and wider FCA regulation (including Consumer Duty), Project Management.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Good time management and organisation skills.

  • Problem solving skills with the ability to adopt a logical approach to solving problems.

  • Stakeholder orientation skills.

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.

  • Presentation skills.

  • Excellent data and statistical analysis skills, including the ability to use Excel to a high standard., CIPD Qualification desirable (but not essential), Commercially focussed.
