Early Years Childcare Practitioner

You will work to promote, encourage and cascade good practice throughout the setting. You will be responsible for mentoring and/or supporting experienced practitioners.

This post is best suited for the individual who has a sound knowledge of the EYFS experience and desires to develop their leadership skills further. There are also great training opportunities available for the successful candidate.

You must have excellent written and communication skills. You must be confident, flexible and have the ability to adapt, to multi-task and to use your own initiative.

Your duties will include:

• Supervision of the children and staff


• Talking to parents


• Carry out daily risk assessments and keep the work environment safe and secure.


• To plan, prepare and deliver quality/creative play opportunities within a healthy, safe and caring environment.


• Prepare weekly planning of adult initiated-child lead activities


• Providing comprehensive care for the children i.e. collecting them from school until pick-up by parents/carers


• Facilitating good communication with all members of the organisation, parents, schools and childcare and play related agencies.


• Working within the framework of the organisations policies and procedures.
