Full Job Description

As part of the Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability team, the Community Manager role will support the development and delivery of our Community strategy against our umbrella proposition focused on helping vulnerable children and young people achieve their potential in our local communities, which is delivered in partnership with our national charity partners.

Key responsibilities will include leading the day to day delivery of the Community strategy, being the key point of contact for our charity partners and ensuring that the work we deliver as a business is accurate, reflective of and supporting our commitments.,

  • Be the day-to-day contact for all our charity partnerships across EU, ensuring they are up to speed on our strategy and plans and getting timely sight of and sign off of all communications

  • Deliver accurate and fulsome information about and from our charity partners that Marketing COEs need in order to deliver strong customer facing campaigns/ communications and associate communications/ engagement

  • Support development, and oversee accurate and timely delivery, of key campaigns by internal partner functions in UK and EU - including RND (Comic Relief), GUCFG (CRUK & Enable Ireland), Prince's Trust Awards sponsorship, Children's Day - DE/AT/PL/NL

  • Analyse/consider campaign evaluations and make recommendations to evolve campaigns YoY, in line with campaign development milestones

  • Support the delivery of CR content into wider brand communications and channels in partnership with Campaign Marketing

  • Work closely with communications and in-country marketing teams to communicate CR activities to associates and customers, develop/managing a CR content calendar so we understand which messages are being delivered to customers

  • In close partnership with Buying, Merchandising and Marketing, oversee the delivery of the charitable merchandise strategy - ensuring that the product that is being bought is delivering against brief, that we are supporting the right products with marketing campaigns, and that operationally we are delivering product into market in order that the campaigns are as successful as possible

  • Relays and considers feedback from other teams and, with support from the Manager of, leads specific projects to innovate and establish efficiencies in ways of working cross-functionally.

  • Liaise with Finance to ensure regular and accurate reporting of our fundraising/ donation totals, that these are shared with relevant stakeholders and partners, and that accurate funding transfers are made to partners at contractually agreed points in the year

  • Work closely with Store Operations business partner to ensure their activity calendar is aligned and operational impacts of CR activity planned for and communicated to relevant retail teams

  • Develop and maintain CR champion network to support the delivery of our CR strategy across our operations

  • Develop appropriate and relevant content for the reporting communications requirements of US colleagues on global activity

  • In conjunction with the Reputation Communications team, develop content plan to support strategic CR wider brand objectives to drive associate engagement and pride

    Experience working in Corporate Responsibility and /or Sustainability roles (preferred not essential)

  • A strong understanding of, and interest in, the wider sustainability agenda and up to date knowledge of workplace best practice, programs operating across the business/competitors

  • Ability to build a story/ narrative and communicate simply and effectively

  • Experience of working in project delivery in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills - relationship building, team working, influencing skills, including engaging and influencing at a senior level

  • Ability to prioritise and work with multiple projects at once

  • Self-starter, develops and delivers work under own initiative

  • Good organisation and time management skills
