Full Job Description

  • Consistently review and maintain all records required by the Company in line with Information Governance Responsible for consistently monitoring the standard of care being delivered to all service users to ensure it is at the optimum levels at all times. Ensuring that all residents receive quality medical and personal care and that care plans are fully maintained.


  • Act at all times in line with NMC Code of Professional Conduct (if relevant).


  • Support the Manager in the implementation of all policies, procedures and business objectives in order to excel the business forward.


  • To manage the Home in the absence of the General Manager in line with the company guidelines. Ensuring CQC regulations are met in terms of notifications.


  • Maintain and prepare the staff duty rota to ensure appropriate staffing levels at all times.


  • Conduct staff supervisions and appraisals in line with the company policy and to meet with external regulator guidelines.


  • Responsible for ensuring all staff at trained and updated on safe systems of work including Manual Handling and fire safety evacuation procedures through the induction process.


  • Responsible for monitoring the state of wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any change impacting on care and care plans, ensuring that new needs are met and written records are amended to reflect any variation.


  • Act as a focal point for contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are acted upon and concerns or complaints are promptly investigated and dealt with appropriately.


  • Take responsibility for marketing the Home in conjunction with the General Manager to existing and potential residents and relatives, health and social care professionals, developing links with other care providers.


  • Understand your personal responsibilities in relation to the Health and Safety at Work Act including a working knowledge of COSHH assessments.


  • Infection control procedures to be followed at all times. Staff to use PPE where appropriate. Staff member to ensure that all items used in the carrying gout of their job role are cleaned after use and stored correctly. All risk assessments linked to ICP are followed. Deputy to ensure their training in ICP is up to date. Ensure staff follow ICP and are supervised where this is not seen.


  • Act in a professional and courteous manner at all times towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident and ensure effective communication is maintained.


  • Develop a welcoming culture within the home to encourage an engaged team working ethos, responding positively to colleagues and actioning all reasonable work instructions promptly.


  • Liaise and advise on the supply and quality of items purchased by the home in line with specific tasks, ensuring the timely and appropriate ordering of replacement goods.


  • Attend and encourage staff to attend all relevant staff meetings.


  • Manage complaints and safeguarding issues in the managers.

    We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a critical role to take the overall responsibility for the day to day management of the home and support the Home Management when required. Ensuring a welcoming, safe and engaging environment is provided for all service users, employees and visitors to the home., NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes/Registered Manager award.


  • Willing to study Level 5 in Health and Social Care.

    Previous experience working with the client group.

    Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of CQC regulations/Local Authority Commissioning.

    Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Computer skills are an advantage.

    Demonstrate excellent leadership skills.

    Effective interpersonal skills.

    Have a positive attitude to developing staff and enhancing care of the residents.

    Able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.

    Knowledge of safeguarding/MCA procedures.
