Assistant Gymnastics Coach

Coaches are responsible for the planning, organisation and delivery of gymnastics sessions. The main responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the safe set up and packing away of equipment, ensuring all equipment is stored safely.


• Leading warm ups


• Teaching relevant skills, progressions and techniques


• Monitoring and enhancing performance by providing physical support, encouragement and constructive feedback


• Liaising with parents about the progress of their children, when necessary


• Keeping accurate records about children's progress including monitoring their progression through the club's unique award scheme


• Following the club's behaviour management strategies and creating a safe and enjoyable environment for children to learn in


• Ensuring health and safety is adhered to


• Undertaking ad-hoc administrative tasks when required


• Taking responsibility for the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children


• Being familiar with and following all club policies and procedures.
  
  We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to help coach gymnastics classes on Saturdays. This is an exciting opportunity for either a helper coach, level 1 or level 2 coach to deliver 'gymnastics for all' during term-time on a Saturday morning.


We would also be open to training up any individuals who have a knowledge of gymnastics and are keen to gain further coaching experience. We run an excellent mentoring programme and pay for external training. This is an ideal prospect for someone considering a career in coaching or teaching as the experience gained is very transferable to the National Curriculum and the club is run by a qualified PE teacher.

Kingston Gymnastics is an expanding gym club in Kingston upon Thames that opened in September 2019. We are passionate about providing fun recreational classes that place participants at the heart of every session.

There are 6 classes which start at 8:30am and finish at 2:00pm for children aged 3 years upwards and last 45 minutes each. The club is based at Tiffin Girls' School in Kingston upon Thames and has great transport links; is walking distance from the train and bus stations.

There are opportunities to be mentored by experienced coaches and supported through additional coaching qualifications, if desired. There is also the potential to take on more managerial tasks for those seeking more responsibility. Finally, there is free parking available.
