Full Job Description

Test & Means apprentices have the opportunity to learn a variety of practical skills we use when we carry out testing to achieve the Development and Qualification of Safran products and systems., Apprentices will be follow the Level 4 Propulsion Technician (Propulsion Test) qualification with Milton Keynes college with on the job and classroom training assisting with your learning of multiple aspects of testing. The apprenticeship duration is 42 months.

  • Learn how to fulfil the verification phase of a project, being able to identify human resources, equipment and facilities (onsite and offsite) as well as risks


  • Perform Electrical, Mechanical, Environmental, development and qualification tests on Safran products using various test equipment (e.g. high speed drives, Environmental Chambers, Vibration Test Rigs and other analogue and digital equipment)


  • Set up mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and the associated electrical wiring to specific impedances, with the ability to fault find test equipment and test rigs


  • Perform data analysis of test results, assess trends to identify and help resolve product issues


  • Use and program Data Acquisition systems (Dasy Lab, Dewesoft and LabView software)


  • Write technical documentation, including test procedures, Engineering Reports, Compliance Analysis, Equipment Specifications and Production Acceptance Test Specifications
