Full Job Description

In this position you will be responsible for the delivery and support of Consultus' in-house 1st line IT support. This is a full time, permanent position, and you will be expected in our Leicester Head Office 4 days per week.

Common tasks will include:

  • Being the point of contact for 1st line IT support queries and issues

  • Supporting the Microsoft 365 stack and legacy RDS farm

  • Administration of IT infrastructure including the provision and routine support for a self-hosted Azure Tenant

  • Ensuring rigorous enforcement of IT security policy and threat mitigation activities including support for ongoing security accreditation

  • Ensuring uptime of Consultus networks and firewalls across multiple locations

  • Working alongside the IT Software team in leveraging the native capabilities of Azure Cloud infrastructure

  • Seeing through assigned IT infrastructure project work from conception to finished article, including status reporting

  • Maintaining the IT asset register and managing hardware replenishment and procurement


  • It is likely that as part of your role you will receive training and development on Azure Cloud IaaS (Infrastructure As A Service) and 365 broad adoption, including Power Automate / Dataverse.

    To be successful in your application, it is essential that you have at least a minimum of 1 years' experience in 1st line IT support.

    You must have a customer-focused outlook, be motivated and engaged, asserting initiative in resolving issues with a flexible approach. Other essential skills and qualities include:
  • Having a basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking

  • Proficiency in operating systems such as Windows, macOS, or Linux

  • Familiarity with common software applications and productivity suites

  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues effectively

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with users of varying technical levels

  • Ability to manage user expectations and communicate realistic timelines

  • Ability to manage multiple support tickets simultaneously and prioritize tasks accordingly

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment to achieve common goals

  • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations


  • Desirable experience and knowledge include:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM/ERP (and / or Business Central), and its support requirements, such as Power Automate and the related integration platforms such as Dataverse

  • Migration of on-premises servers to Azure Cloud

  • Experience and exposure of IT DevOps and AGILE frameworks

  • Implementing the execution of anti-virus and phishing drills

  • Working knowledge of Cloud IP PBX telephony (8x8 / Zest 4)

  • Creating and maintaining Power Flows / Power Automate solutions for leveraging 365 native functionalities to drive and deliver efficiencies


  • It would be beneficial if you have undertaken an apprenticeship or have a foundation degree in IT, hardware and system support.
