Full Job Description

We are seeking to recruit a Teaching Assistant apprentice at Newcastle Academy to provide support to our teachers. You will be providing general support to the teacher in the care of pupils and management of the classroom. This role is term time only.

  • Maintain classroom discipline

  • Provide structured support in accordance with work programmes

  • Support teachers in the development of individual plans for students

  • Assist in maintaining classroom discipline

  • Provide support to teachers to achieve learning goals

  • Assist the teacher with the planning of learning activities

  • Assist the teacher in monitoring students, recording progress and providing feedback, Level 3 Teaching Assistant Standard

  • You will spend four days a week in the workplace and one day a week at Newcastle College as your 'study day'

    Communication skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Team working, Initiative, Patience, GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4/C or above) Essential

  • GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 4/C or above) Essential
