Full Job Description

This newly formed role joins our Sustainability Advisory Team. The team was created in 2023 to build Cooper Parry's sustainability capacity, acting as an incubator for sustainability advisory services. We are now gearing up for the official launch with ambitious growth plans! To help us get this off the ground at scale we are on the lookout for an experienced and talented Assistant Manager.
Our sustainability team are set to double in size this year with even more potential for growth next year. A day in the life of a Sustainability Advisory Assistant Manager:

  • Leading sustainability reporting engagements following key sustainability reporting frameworks and standards (i.e. SECR, CRFD/TCFD, CSRD/ESRS, EU taxonomy, etc.)

  • Leading sustainability assurance engagements including report assurance, readiness services and other assurance related services across all industries

  • Taking ownership for all aspects of engagement delivery working with the manager on scoping, programme and team selection through to delivery, quality management and budgetary control

  • Developing thought leadership and market eminence related to sustainability & ESG

  • Building technical knowledge across the wider Cooper Parry internal teams

  • Specialities in the Sustainability team cover: ESG Assessments, Carbon Accounting, ESG Assurance and Reporting, B Corp Certification Support

    You will have a desire to work as part of a high performing team covering a range of sustainability matters in a dynamic environment.

  • You must be committed to providing exceptional customer service and building effective working relationships with clients. You need to be adaptable and versatile, with confidence and composure to present, respond to questions, network and guide/train team members through thought leadership.

  • ACA/ACCA qualified with recent practice experience

  • Working knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks and standards e.g. SECR, CRFD/TCFD, CSRD/ESRS, EU taxonomy

  • Working knowledge of assurance frameworks using ISAE 3000/3410

  • Articulate, able to explain the benefits of incorporating ESG across a company's strategy

  • The ability to explain concepts to technical and non-technical users through top notch communication, both verbal and written

  • Good level of understanding of carbon accounting spanning scopes 1-3, and a technical knowledge of carbon reporting legislation and standards. (i.e. GHG Protocol, SBTi NetZero Standard) would be an advantage
