Full Job Description

Brimsham Green School has a vacancy for a part-time Study Centre Supervisor to support student learning within our successful Study Centre/Library.

In support of the school's curriculum delivery the main responsibilities of the role include:

  • The management of the Study Centre, its budget and resources.


  • Supervision of the Study Centre Assistant.


  • Liaison with all departments in the school to ensure appropriate access to learning resources.


  • Work with pupils and staff on developing resources to support study skills and extend teaching and learning strategies.


  • Participation in the planning and delivery of study skills.


  • Support for reader development and literacy within the school.


  • Researching and devising programmes to support curriculum areas, including intervention or extension programmes.


  • Developing links with curriculum departments to encourage greater use of Study Centre resources.


  • Supervision of students using the Study Centre.


  • Creating an environment in the Study Centre which is both welcoming and vibrant.


  • Participation in student enrichment activities.

    Applicants should have experience gained within a library setting and have experience of working with young people. You will be competent in the use of IT, have a flare for efficient administration and able to work independently and with flexibility. Above all you will have a love of reading and desire to support children with their independent learning.

    This permanent role is based on 32.5 hours per week to cover term-time only plus two INSET days. The patterns of work is Monday to Friday 9am - 4pm and the role is remunerated at Hay-8 £22,537 per annum, rising to £24,567 per annum (pay review pending). For the successful candidate, we may be able to offer some flexibility on the total number of hours worked.
