Full Job Description

  • You will be the ultimate hospitality professional able to make each and every guest feel special and have the ability to encourage and motivate a team to do the same.

  • Your knowledge of wine will inspire others and you will enjoy sharing your knowledge through regular training and development.

  • As the Sommelier, you will be responsible for delivering world class wine service across the hotel.

  • Working with a wonderfully curated wine list containing wines from our own Vineyard, you will use your passion to help drive wine sales, educate the team and impart your knowledge to our guests

  • You will ensure that all of our glassware is sparkling and correct, as well as liaising with our Head of Wine to keep our wine list up to date, relevant and exciting!

  • As our Sommelier, you will lead and host regular wine tastings, driving the success of these events with your outstanding knowledge of all things wine related

    You will be educated up to WSET level 3, and have significant experience in a similar luxury hotel environment.

    We are currently recruiting for a Sommelier at Stanbrook Abbey Hotel, part of Hand Picked Hotels.
    Stanbrook Abbey Hotel is renowned as one of Worcestershire's best-kept secrets. With a recent £4.2m renovation, meticulously designed to celebrate the country house hotel's history, introduced the new brasserie-style dining experience in The Refectory restaurant, situated at the site of the original nun's cafeteria. An additional eight new bedrooms are situated on the second floor, with a further seven rooms built in the original schoolhouse in St Anne's Wing, bringing the total number of bedrooms to 70

  • A competitive salary package of up to £36,400 per year, plus a share of service charge.

  • This is a Full-Time role working 5 days out of 7 including weekends on a rota basis, 40 hours per week, which may vary depending on business needs.
