Full Job Description

  • Applying specialised actuarial techniques and producing and/or reviewing key deliverables including:

  • the actuarial inputs to financial reporting.

  • the actuarial inputs to regulatory submissions.

  • the financial projections to support business planning, capital management and risk assessment.

  • the development, maintenance, documentation and validation of actuarial systems.

  • the analysis of the company's experience (e.g. lapses and expenses)

  • Drafting key reports communicating the results of SJP plc and entity financial reporting exercises.

  • Ensuring proper operation, implementation, maintenance and development of controls to safeguard the accuracy of actuarial outputs produced.

  • Supervising the work of actuarial assistants/technicians as required to meet the responsibilities above.

  • Providing actuarial advice and input for cross-functional or finance projects.

    We're looking for a candidate with a good track record through the actuarial curriculum and the following:

  • Knowledge and experience in applying actuarial techniques and concepts, experience of Reserving, EEV, Analysis of Change and/or Solvency II an advantage.

  • Knowledge of principles underlying actuarial cash-flow modelling, knowledge of SQL and other programming languages (e.g. VBA, R, Python) an advantage.

  • Strong computing skills, particularly Excel, but skills in other relevant computing packages an advantage and exceptional analytical and numerical skills.

  • Ability to communicate core technical matters clearly and concisely in an appropriate format.

  • Strong relationship building skills with key stakeholders and others.
