Full Job Description

Role Specifics; As a Rehabilitation Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in helping our client achieve his rehabilitation goals. We are looking to recruit a full team to support a gentleman in his 60's who sustained a head injury through a road traffic accident. The gentleman has been receiving rehabilitation support upon his release from hospital, and is now ready to transition into his new home in the Winskill area of Penrith, allowing him to continue with his rehabilitation.

The gentleman is very sociable and needs support with most areas of his life. Daily duties will include with meal prep, medication, physio routines, accessing the community, strengthening his mobility and support in him maintaining his relationship with his family members.

He has difficulty in taking on any new learning but with repetition can learn, so needs friendly and resilient staff with a positive outlook.

You will be given full training supported by care plans from the professionals involved in the case including an Assistant Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist and Occupational therapist.

Desirable Criteria; Experience of rehabilitation care plans. Given the location of this case, a driver with access to their own vehicle would also be advantageous.

  • Have you any experience of working with clients who require rehabilitation as part of the daily care plan?

    Salary / Rate of Pay; £11.75 to £12.25 per hour - shift dependant. Note for sleeping nights you will be paid a fixed sum of £76 between the hours of 11pm and 7am.


  • Contract type; Fixed hours - part time and full time available, for those seeking a more flexible approach we can offer flexible Zero-hour contracts for adhoc working, covering contingency working for sickness and annual leave

    Hours available;

    · Monday to Sunday, 24/7 support required

    · 8am to 8pm and 8pm to 8am

    · Staffed on a 2:1 ratio for daytime support and, 2:1 ratio for a night time support, includes sleeping and waking shift workers,
  • A contract that works for you; fixed hours or more flexible zero hour available

  • Paid Annual Leave; 5.6 weeks annual leave if you are on a fixed hours contract or, for those who choose our flexible zero hour contract, you will accrue12.07% on all hours worked. Funds can be drawn at your discretion.

  • Training, Mentoring and Shadowing programmes; inhouse with our own RGN, Occupational Therapist and trained Psychologists
