Full Job Description

Double Impact is a registered charity and not for profit organisation, established in 1998. We believe that with the right support everybody can recover and that in recovery anything is possible. We are looking for someone to join our team as a Recovery Connecter within the Health Shop Harm Reduction Service.

To be eligible for this role you must be in long-term Recovery and passionate about supporting others to reduce drug/alcohol related harm and improve health inequalities. Align with, and uphold the values of Double Impact at all times, championing recovery and possibility thinking - a true motivator to other service users.

The Health Shop is a harm reduction service for both drugs/alcohol and sexual health. The service is incredibly diverse and operates from both the main base on Broad Street and through outreach. This role includes needle exchange provision, sexual health and supporting people to access health services such as their GP, drug treatment and GUM.

As a Recovery Connector, you will recognise the challenges and stigma faced by people who use drugs/alcohol and will work as part of a team to support people to improve their health, breaking down barriers and increase wellbeing. In this role you will gain an increased knowledge of the harm reduction field, work with a passionate and innovative team, and support an expanding service, full of opportunities.

Candidates will have ideally completed the DI Mentoring Training, be reliable and have basic IT Skills and familiarity with basic IT packages.

The Nottingham Recovery Network comprises of Framework Housing Association, Double Impact and Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The service is publicly funded and has been established to support people who misuse drugs and alcohol. We provide a single point of advice, support and treatment for anyone in Nottingham City who wishes to change their relationship with alcohol or drugs
