Full Job Description

Due to the nature of the role you will need to have a full UK driving license as you may need to use a work vehicle.

You will work alongside other maintenance staff and skilled trades to complete the jobs. The apprenticeship will provide you with a great opportunity to learn and will give you valuable experience across several areas:

  • Identify risks and hazards and work to Health & Safety regulations.

  • Complete maintenance and repairs using job sheets or job specifications.

  • Use correct hand or power tools for the task.

  • Clear away and dispose of waste safely.

  • Use carpentry and joinery skills to compete minor repairs such as window and door frames.

  • Painting and decorating a range of surfaces.

  • Minor plastering repairs.

  • Plumbing and drainage repairs, identify faults.

  • Use a variety of materials for wall and floor tiling.


  • Possible additional training provided by the employer - LANTRA, PASMA, Level 3 PAT testing, Legionella, ROSPA and pesticide spraying and treatment.

    The training you will be getting

  • Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative standard qualification

  • This will be a blended delivery, a mixture of Microsoft Teams and face to face and attending off site courses.

  • All training will take place within your working hours.

  • Ixion Holdings will complete Functional Skills (in maths and English), where necessary and will ensure Health & Safety, British Values and Equality & Diversity is embedded throughout the course.

    Communication skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Problem solving skills, Logical, Team working, Initiative, Physical fitness, GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4/C or above) Desired

  • GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 4/C or above) Desired, Work uniform and PPE provided. A good head for heights is required when using scaffolding. You will be working outside sometimes in all weather conditions.

    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
    Minimum Wage Rates
  • Working week

  • Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 8.00am - 4.00pm Wednesday, 6.30am - 5.00pm Friday, 8.00am - 12.00pm (weekends and bank holidays may be required)., You could reduce your training time, or finish your apprenticeship faster, if you have relevant prior learning or experience. This could be relevant:
