Full Job Description

To provide a comprehensive, high quality medical secretarial and administrative service to the consultant their medical team and specialist nursing teams, and other health professionals. To co-ordinate and maintain arrangements to facilitate the patients progression along a defined pathway. To maintain the office organisation and monitor the workload related to the administration team., We are very pleased to be able to advertise for a secondment medical secretary post within our Neonatal service.

The successful applicant will work alongside a well established group of medical secretaries who support the general paediatric in Singleton Hospital.

The post-holder will be required to;

  • Provide an efficient secretarial service to several Consultants

  • Maintain direct and close working relationships with the Consultant(s) and their medical team as well as other staff within the department.

    Candidates must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, and an understanding of maintaining confidentiality. The post holder will need to be competent in audio typing, meet deadlines, with the ability to exercise initiative and prioritise workload in response to changing demands. The successful candidate will be computer literate and be efficient in using the Microsoft Office packages and hospital based WPAS.


  • The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
