Full Job Description

Here at VIVO we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to undertake planned and reactive maintenance on our site at RAF Molesworth.

With your experience in handling heating and water systems, you will also be maintaining the HVAC equipment on RAF Molesworth and potentially our site in Alconbury.

Working independently, at the start of the month you will be assigned tasks through a provided tablet and be able to self-schedule planned and reactive maintenance activities to a number of facilities. You will also be required to complete site records and forms to ensure that all records are kept for the maintenance undertaken.

Other responsibilities include;

  • To coordinate with others on site to ensure works are completed within timescales set

  • Ensuring work activities are carried out safely and to high quality

  • To diagnose & rectify faults in good time

  • To meet deadlines (response times) for planned and reactive maintenance works

  • Recognising and communicating with the client and line manager by recording any change or workplace event that may delay or disrupt the job in which the works are to be carried out

  • To identify, procure and progress material requisitions and to follow up deliveries where delegated

  • Ensuring works are compliant with regulations and correctness of work completed

    City & Guilds Plumbing Apprenticeship Level 2 Mechanical OR an equivalent City & Guilds Mechanical Level 3 with an unvented qualification.


  • Experience working with HVAC mechanical ventilation systems.

    Legionella awareness and training in maintaining water hygiene.

    Previous experience on working on Pressure Systems (or an equivalent qualification).

    It is essential that you have experience with Oil Fired appliances above 45kW Output, and desirable that you have a OFTEC or BOAS qualification.

    This role will require you to travel to remote sites weekly therefore it is essential that you hold a clean and valid UK driving licence or can travel to remote locations without the use of public transport.

    It is desirable that you have experience of operating within an MOD environment and have familiarity with geography and establishments within area of responsibility.
