Full Job Description

Barnsley Hospice is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. As the Marketing and Communications Officer, you will play an important role in supporting the Marketing and Communications Team to engage with key stakeholders, raise the profile of the hospice and generate income to ensure the hospice can support the local community for another 30 years., You will be responsible for creating engaging and high-quality content that aligns with the organisational values, helping the deliver to hospices marketing and communications strategy and hospice-wide strategic objectives.

You will ensure existing content is accurate and up-to-date and find new opportunities to share the hospices key messages. This role requires a great eye for spotting trends and newsworthy stories, and using these to generate content to further the ambitions of the hospice and generate income.

Internal communications will also be a vital part of your responsibilities, and you will lead on ensuring key corporate messages are communicated to all colleagues and support a great culture for the hospice workforce.

Barnsley Hospice is a charity that provides specialist palliative and end of life care to hundreds of local people and those close to them each year. Our main priority is to achieve the best possible quality of life for people living with a life-limiting illness, whilst supporting those close to them during the period of illness and bereavement. As a specialist care provider, the range of skills we offer include, pain and symptom management, emotional support and end of life care. The hospice currently employs about 100 people and has a team of volunteers, based both at the hospice and within our retail hub.
