M&E Building Service Manager

You will provide support to our business at all stages of the projects through preconstruction and operational delivery. You will work in a hybrid way from our office in Cardiff, home and visiting our projects if support is best given face to face., Pre-Construction:

• Provide technical support to our design teams, estimating teams, preconstruction teams


• Review and shape designs produced by M&E consultants or supply chain partners.


• Advise on MEP budgets during early stages of a bid.


• Advise on suitable MEP Procurement routes and tender competition routes.


• Undertake cost reviews, tender and gap analysis on the MEP package returns.


• Select MEP partners to tender projects from our supply chain and recommending successful partners from your tender analysis.


• Identify risks and opportunity within projects during the bid stage.


• Finalise the MEP order value before handing the project to the commercial team.


• Obtain quotes for and manage the procurement of utility supplies.


• Maintain and develop relationships with our MEP Supply Chain.


• Attend and participate within tender interviews.


• Attend and lead M&E discussions within Design Team Meetings and Customer Meetings.


Delivery:

• Providing support to our Operational Teams.


• Visiting sites during construction as and when they require face to face support


• Reviewing the MEP installations for compliance against the designs, contract requirements, relevant standards/regulation and our quality requirements.


• Assisting the site teams with any technical queries finding solutions to challenges.


• Supporting to develop installation and commissioning programmes.


• Maintaining and developing relationships with our MEP Supply Chain.


• Attending and leading M&E discussions within Design Team Meetings, Customer Meetings, progress and commissioning meetings.


Collaboration

• Collaborate with the wider business in relation to MEP services as well as across our supply chain.


• Actively support the building services department to deliver on their strategic aims


• Mentor junior members of the team and support them to achieve their agreed goals and targets.


• Conduct peer reviews of other teams' tenders, advising them on potential gaps, risks and opportunity within their bid.


• Provide assistance to the quality & customer care team and find resolution to any emerging issues.
  
  Appropriate CSCS card


• Valid driving licence


• Appropriate managerial experience in the services sector


• Experience of undertaking a BSM role in Pre-Construction and Operational Delivery


• Understanding of all relevant M&E and services legislation


• Commercial acumen


• Proficient use of and Microsoft suite of Office programmes; inc. Excel, Word, Outlook.


• Experience on a variety of M&E projects in a wide range of sectors


• Minimum relevant level 4 qualification (HNC / NVQ4 etc)

• Relevant Degree or Equivalent Qualification


• Working towards MCIOB / MCIBSE /MIET
