Full Job Description

We are looking for a Head of Organisational Development and Culture to lead the organisational development and cultural transformation for the Health Board. This is an exciting new role that is critical to the delivery of our People and Culture Plan, our ambitions as outlined in our Shaping Our Future Wellbeing Strategy, and the wider Health and Social Care Workforce Strategy.

Working closely with the Assistant Director of OD, Wellbeing & Culture and the wider senior leadership team, you will be responsible for shaping, implementing, managing and developing a high quality, evidence-based OD service that can support delivery of the UHB Shaping Our Future Wellbeing Strategy through the provision of expert advice and direction, relationships and partnering as well as through well designed products and processes that support the organisation to deliver against its priorities.

You will work collaboratively while leading on all aspects of OD including cultural assessment and improvement, measuring and enhancing employee experience, values and behaviours, developing effective team working, and supporting cross-organisational regional working., The post holder will lead the organisational development agenda for the UHB, working closely with the Senior Team, members of the Senior Leadership Board, Trade Union Partners and stakeholders from across the Health Board's geographical footprint such as HEIW and other Health Boards and Trusts. They will support the UHB to work effectively and bring to life the ambitions within the UHB's P&C Plan.

They will provide expert OD advice and guidance to senior leaders, and P&C colleagues, to develop and deliver OD programmes and plans. The role will report upon progress through presentations and reports to senior Committees, and develop proposals to move the OD agenda forward.

Working closely with the wider People and Culture team, the post holder will be responsible for undertaking deep dive analysis into the experience of work, for example, cultural assessments, Staff surveys and pulse surveys and determining appropriate actions to address emerging themes. Using this information, the role will use excellent consulting skills to devise and design on cultural change and continuing organisation improvement.

Using a compassionate leadership approach, this role will ensure that the Organisational Development team is proactive and influential in its contribution to the organisation's strategic and operational plan, developing and empowering all members of the team to demonstrate professional excellence and standards.

This is a senior leadership role and would suit an individual who truly role-models CAVUHB values and behaviours, and has a strong background in organisational development, cultural assessment and transformation.
