Full Job Description
- Communicate and negotiate with current and potential commercial partners.
- Analyse current business operations to encourage rapid growth.
- Innovate upon our business model and commercial pipeline.
- Prepare market and operational reports for investor and board communications.
- Work closely with the CEO to ensure all aspects of the company are running smoothly, moving between specialities with ease.
- Analyse and provide feedback on social media content.
- Collaborate with other team members to develop the best products.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all communications and opportunities.
- Analyse data with a critical eye, providing insights for ongoing project optimization.
- Stay knowledgeable on the latest developments in molecular biology and crop science.
Bachelor's degree, with 2+ years of experience. - Proven experience in business development is a must.
- Ideally, experience in agriculture, agri-tech, or seed companies.
- Ideally, experience within a startup.
- Strong ability to communicate, especially with public speaking and the ability to communicate a business story.
- Fluency in English.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proven problem-solving skills and an eagerness to find solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
- Proficiency or familiarity with software-based project management.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proactive work attitude., Bachelor's (preferred), Business development: 2 years (preferred)

Rice is currently the core crop for Alora's technology, but increasing this to include model organisms such as Brachypodium distachyon or other important crops such as soybean will be a priority in addition to optimising all varieties for yield and additional abiotic stresses.
