Assistant Accountant

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in supporting our finance department and ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes. In return, we will support your career growth with focused training and development.,

• Managing the company invoice email and resolving related queries.


• Overseeing the purchase order (PO) system, including account management and reconciling approved POs.


• Creating contacts in Xero and ensuring compliance with company procedures, encompassing set up forms, contract filing and verifying bank details.


• Posting purchase invoices and conducting bi-weekly payment runs across UK, US & EU. Responsible for processing employee expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies.


• Overseeing credit control & posting sales invoices.


• Reconciling bank accounts.


• Managing the timesheet system, including employee setup and training, generating weekly timesheet reports for management and completing system admin tasks.


• Preparing month end journals, including accruals, prepayments and provisions.


• Maintenance of fixed asset register and Balance Sheet reconciliations.


• Creating monthly schedules summarising financial performance to budget holders.


• Reviewing monthly VAT returns before submission for approval by the Management Accountant.


• Assisting with monthly payroll processes for UK, US and EU by ensuring compliant employee set up and processing monthly adjustments.


• Supporting cash flow forecast management.


• Contributing to continuous improvement and automation initiatives within the Finance department.
