Full Job Description

As a Night Mental Health Support Worker at The Park, you will be working as part of an innovative, friendly and compassionate team. You will be responsible for enabling people with various and sometimes very complex support needs to progress towards recovery, wellbeing and independence through the utilisation of creative, flexible, and outcome-driven support, planning and delivery techniques.,

  • Coordinate night shift to include service user need, health and safety and other duties required, to include delegation of tasks and follow up to ensure completion.

  • Administration of medication, including PRN medication and controlled drugs, overseeing medication regimes with nurses.

  • Supporting clients to assess their needs, understand and manage their risks, capture their goals and monitor progress towards them.

  • Review care plans and risk management plans to reflect needs and ongoing risk at night.

  • Support risk management and risk mitigation at night within a positive risk framework to include liaising professionally with out of hours external agencies.

  • Addressing incidents and anti-social behaviour promptly and effectively, minimising the impact on others and taking necessary steps to prevent escalation.

  • Safeguard safety and wellbeing of others.

  • Accurately record and document night time events in progress notes.

  • Maintain a secure and welcoming environment.

  • Complete observations on service users in line with care plans.

  • Use understanding of Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Human Rights Act to guide decision making.


  • Shift times

    A rota of 4 waking nights one week, 3 waking nights the following. 19:30 - 08:00. Weekends included. Please note, we are unable to offer Tier 2 sponsorship.

    We are looking for experienced Mental Health Support Night Workers, who have a background of working within a variety of health care settings.

    The Park is a 12-bed step through rehabilitative facility set in beautiful rural countryside not far from Thornbury. We house adult males aged 18-65 with a mental health illness. The service's core philosophy is the promotion of independence, health and social recovery through bespoke rehabilitation and care/support planning for these adults

    Salary: £16 per hour, 40.25 hours a week
