Full Job Description

We are currently looking to recruit a Canning Hall 2 Senior Technical Operator on a permanent contract at our Wisbech site, reporting to a Shift Coordinator., Operates as a Senior Technical Operator with responsibility for all aspects of performance of a clearly defined area.
Manages a small number of people, who report directly. Proactively drives best practices and improvements.
Will be part of the team operating on a 4-shift system; responsible for the delivery of planned production through production/packing line.
The key challenges faced will be to ensure guidelines are adhered to for product & process safety, the materials supply, changeovers, and organization of labour on the line; do not impact on overall line performance. (OEE) or (RFT) and the utilisation of the lines.

To analyse potential problems and to take appropriate action to remedy any shortfall in performance, seeing actions through to completion/implementation through SIC.
Consistently achieves agreed targets and KPIs i.e., safety, Product safety & waste, quality, labour productivity, OEE and RFT.
Consistently organises and plans for production & Ops maintenance.
Builds positive relationships with good morale and cooperation within their team and other areas of the business.

At STO Grade, the person will be expected to understand carryout and manage 5 or more functional areas of Job Operations for a specific and demonstrate the behaviours and skills outlined in the competency matrix and be able to flexibly move across Operations as needed.

  • Experience within a food-processing environment and understanding of hygiene standards is essential

  • Competent numeracy/literacy skills

  • Demonstrable experience in driving continuous improvement

  • Experience in managing/directing a team
