Full Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior HR Manager to lead our HR Advisory Services team. Reporting to the Deputy Head of HR & OD, you will provide strategic leadership to deliver customer-focused HR services aligning with our organizational objectives and values. You will lead a team responsible for providing expert HR advice, managing employee relations, and driving cultural and organizational change initiatives., Provide strategic leadership to the HR Advisory Services team, ensuring high performance and effective operational delivery.
Lead strategic HR projects and initiatives in line with the Council's Workforce Strategy.
Foster positive employee relations and maintain good working relationships with trade unions.
Translate organizational vision into action, ensuring staff understand their contribution to objectives.
Promote equality and diversity, embedding inclusive practices across policies and activities.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve departmental and Council-wide goals.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, employment legislation, and HR best practices.
Manage HR casework and investigations, providing timely and effective support to managers.
Support wider council financial planning and efficiency programs as appropriate.
Contribute to the overall effectiveness of HR & OD and the Council's strategic objectives.

Graduate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development or equivalent.
Significant experience in generalist HR management within the Public Sector or 'not for profit' sector, including unionized environments.
Demonstrated success in leading professional teams and implementing change management initiatives.
In-depth knowledge of employment legislation, HR best practices, and Public Sector operations.
Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
