Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Research Strategy and Funding team in the Radcliffe Department of Medicine (RDM), as a Research Facilitator. The RDM has a large and varied portfolio of funded research projects spanning diverse research areas. RDM is committed to ensuring our researchers are given as much support as possible when applying for funding to ensure they submit strong and competitive grant applications, given the changing and highly competitive world of research.
Working alongside, and reporting to, the Head of Strategic Research Development you will play an important role in providing researchers with timely information about upcoming funding opportunities, supporting researchers applying for internal and external funding, assisting in implementing the research related activities in the Athena SWAN action plan, and assisting with initiatives to promote collaborative research within the Department.

You will hold a Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent qualification, in a scientific discipline or have equivalent professional experience. You will possess an understanding of the funding landscape in the UK, alongside an understanding of the funding needs and challenges faced by researchers. You will have excellent communication skills (both oral and written), and excellent interpersonal and networking skills. You will have an ability to think strategically, combined with a willingness to undertake day to day tasks and work with care, precision, and meticulous attention to detail. You will need excellent organisational skills and be able to manage complex workloads with competing deadlines. You will need excellent analytical skills being able to interpret complex written documents. You will also need to be able to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and making decisions when required. Previous experience of research facilitation/management within

either a higher education or research institution, or a research active company in the private sector coupled with a higher degree such as a PhD would be desirable.
