Full Job Description

Working in a busy production environment, you will work as part of a team to manufacture bespoke joinery elements from raw materials to finished goods. Predominantly working as an edgebander operator, you will:

  • Set up the edgebander machine according to the specifications of the job

  • Load raw materials onto the machine, which will involve lifting heavy panels and feeding them into the machine for processing

  • Fulfil individual and departmental hourly/daily/weekly production targets

  • Use the electronic scanning system to record production progress

  • Undertake equipment inspection, maintenance and cleaning in accordance with instructions

  • Work to company policies and procedures at all times

  • Comply with quality standards always

  • Always carry out tasks in line with health and safety requirements

  • Carry out general housekeeping to ensure your workstation is clean, tidy and free from hazards

  • Proactively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

  • Experience in operating edgebander machinery, including knowledge of different machine models, controls, and settings

  • Understanding of woodworking principles, materials, and processes involved in edgebanding, including knowledge of different types of edgebanding materials and adhesives

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • The ability to identify and troubleshoot issues that arise during the operation of the edgebander machine, such as adhesive failures, cutting problems, or material feed issues

  • Good punctuality, time management and task management skills

  • The ability to work from technical drawings and follow written instructions

  • The ability to work individually with minimum supervision and as part of a team
