Full Job Description

The Director of People Operations at Advanced Software is a member of the People Leadership Team and is responsible for building and executing exceptional and data-driven people operations practices, tools and processes. This role is responsible for policies, HR systems, analytics, payroll, benefits, compensation, people process administration, compliance, and employee relations teams. The role reports to the Chief People Officer, and manages the People Operations team at Advanced.,

  • Conduct operational review: During the first 30 days, conduct a comprehensive operational review of all policies and processes As part of this, identify any potential problems that need immediate resolution with recommended solutions.

  • Re-design policies: Assemble a cross-functional working group to redesign policies to ensure inclusivity, compliance, productivity, experience and effectiveness.

  • Map processes: Map People Operations end-to-end processes, and identify areas for automation.

  • Automate our processes: Review and refine our knowledge base, establish accurate and robust bot/tool training data, and select the right tool to automate our Tier 1 services. Leverage additional automation technologies and opportunities across the People Operations functions to ensure high quality, timely and engaging experiences that build trust and confidence in our function and tailored, individualistic experiences.

  • Oversee the establishment of our target operating model including the establishment of our Total Rewards team, through working with the Chief People Officer to define the target structure and our recruiting team to fill any vacancies. Identify any skills gaps and put into place an upskilling plan for the team.

  • Implement Case Management and SLAs: Oversee the implementation of case management technology and the establishment of SLAs for People Operations processes. Develop process, individual and team efficiency metrics and reporting, and a regular process to evaluate this and take action to improve outcomes. Regularly monitor ticket themes and content and implement actions to continually reduce ticket volumes (e.g. training, knowledge base articles etc.)

  • Technology: Establish and manage an and end-to-end HRIS capability, including systems administrations processes and coverage, a technology roadmap aligned to the People Strategy, system and data governance processes, and standard release management processes, auditing and testing.

  • Total Rewards: Oversee benefits, compensation and payroll activities, and vendor management, ensuring our offerings attract and retain talent and our services drive great experiences.

  • Analytics: Oversee the people analytics capabilities to ensure that managers, leaders, and the People team are equipped with live and actionable data and analytics to improve decision making. Ensure all analytics are created with narratives, recommendations and the ability to monitor outcomes. Utilise data science techniques to understand causation vs correlation and enhance our analytics maturity levels.

  • Monitor and manage status, efficiency and outcomes: by identifying process steps completion, potential problems, satisfaction scores and improvements in KPIs, and taking action on any issues identified. Ensure feedback is acted upon.

  • Partner: with key business stakeholders to ensure people operations products and experiences address key business needs. Work alongside the People Experience, Partnering and Transformation teams to ensure there are efficient and high quality handovers, bi-directional feedback for improvements and collaborative working partnerships.

  • Lead: the People Operations team and ensure delivery of commitments, staffing, retention and development of team, and management of risk and succession.

  • Other duties as assigned

    Experience working in a fast-paced environment supporting the delivery of global HR/People operations functions

  • Experience implementing automation and AI for people processes

  • CIPD Level 7 qualification preferred

  • Experience in process mapping, re-engineering and continuous improvement (six sigma green or black belt preferred)

  • Experience in specialist HR/People domain areas, including payroll, benefits, and employment law in, at a minimum, UK and India

  • Strong knowledge of HR technology

  • Strong analytical skillset

  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
