Full Job Description

The Facilities Learning and Development Team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals requires an Administration and Facilitation assistant based at Northern General Hospital with flexibility to cover the whole of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Trust.
This role will be required to assist with the delivery of mandatory training topics in line with the core skills training framework (CSTF) to meet the needs of Facilities services staff and will support with the administration of learner records and production of training materials; therefore demonstrable skills with a range of computer packages including Microsoft is required. Good analytical and communication skills are essential.
You will work within a small cohesive team that is passionate and committed to providing a qualitative learning and development service across facilities. We are looking for someone who has a desire to contribute towards our team's success. Although knowledge of the services provided in an acute hospital environment is not essential it would be of benefit to applicants.
Occasionally there may be a requirement to work outside of office hours due to the working arrangements of those we need to deliver training to; equally, there are occasions where the training you provide can be delivered away from the main hospital sites.
This post is offered as a 12-month secondment opportunity/fixed term contract. This post is open to internal applicants only., Ensure effective and efficient preparation and maintenance of training resources in advance of scheduled training provision.
Support Facilities Learning and Development Facilitators to prepare for the facilitation of training sessions by producing delegate packs and preparation of the training room and resources.
Support the Data Resource and Staff Development Co-ordinator with the mandatory training administrative tasks that underpin the function of the FLDC team including, but not exclusive to:
Maintain printed resources required for all delegate and staff mandatory training packs.
Prepare bespoke mandatory refresher training packs for facilities staff.
Distribute, recover and record receipt of mandatory training refresher packs.
Mark and score returned training packs.
Update electronic records including individual staff records in STH learning management system PALMS.
Electronically record (scan and save data) into staff folders.
Maintain paper based and electronic filing systems.
Accurately record findings and data into a range of spread sheets.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of 12 months due to the post being part of an organisational change within the Facilities department. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and the management of organisational change.
Please also note any secondment must first be agreed with your current line manager.
