Full Job Description

We are looking for a Head of Connections Pricing & Analytics to lead the delivery of connections pricing and data analysis, driving a significant step change in connections performance for National Grid's Electricity Distribution (NGED) business. This is a senior position which will play a key role in delivering our objectives in achieving stronger connections commercials, reforming connections, and driving better customer outcomes.

Reporting to the Director of Connections, you'll deliver valuable analysis and insight to drive deeper understanding of our connections customer journeys and where we can drive better customer outcomes and a much sharper commercial focus, supporting NGED as we continue to be a leading, influential voice in industry on Connections Reform. The role holder will also be responsible for delivering forecasts of connections volumes, working with key stakeholders across the business to enhance our planning.

To be successful, you'll have the ambition to play a key role in the UK's shift to net zero carbon, be highly experienced in leading change, skilled in stakeholder management and passionate about customer excellence.

We can offer flexibility on where the role is based - Warwick, The Strand London, or in one of our Electricity Distributions Offices (Bristol, Birmingham, Castle Donnington, Cardiff).

We offer a hybrid and flexible working approach, a mix of working in the office and the rest home working. Our standard working week is 37 hours, though we can also offer some flexibility in terms of hours / times if required.

You'll be responsible for

  • Leading the definition and delivery of data, analysis and reporting on connections performance to drive a step change in the business

  • Developing commercially sound pricing models

  • Providing meaningful metrics and targets to drive business success

  • Improving in the quality of connections data

  • Providing data and analysis to ensure regulatory compliance

  • Creating, recruiting and leading a highly motivated, innovative and customer-focused team

    Compelling background in senior analytical roles and performance reporting, with the ability to transform raw data into valuable business insights to inform business decisions.

  • Curious, analytical and logical by nature with a keen eye for detail and strong commercial acumen.

  • Experienced in leading change, developing and delivering meaningful analysis and insights, assessing opportunities and business cases and engaging key players to build a shared understanding of connections performance.

  • A clear communicator with strong commercial acumen.

  • Passionate about customer excellence and ambitious to play a key role in the UK's shift to net zero carbon.

    National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) is the regional electricity distribution division of National Grid.


  • We are the largest UK Electricity Distribution company, providing services and energy to over 25 million customers, through 8 million connections in our four regions across South Wales, the South-West, West Midlands, and East Midlands. Over the next five years we need to invest in over £7.5bn of infrastructure to fulfil the UK's ambition, enabling capacity for more than 1.5 million Electric Vehicles and 600,000 heat pumps and ensuring our customers can connect to our network when they want and how they want.

    A competitive salary of between £72,000 - £100,000- depending on experience and location.
