Joining Sainsbury's as a Central Merchandising Manager presents an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in improving decision-making processes and optimising the "Plan, Buy, and Sell / Move" cycles of product. As a key figure within GM Commercial, you will collaborate closely with Category and Supply Chain teams to establish effective frameworks and guardrails that enhance business operations. With a focus on building strong relationships, influencing with facts and insights, and driving collaboration, you will contribute to the development of new teams and individual capabilities. Your expertise in data analysis, commercial acumen, and problem-solving will be instrumental in shaping strategies and making timely decisions. By joining us, you will contribute to our mission of providing exceptional customer experiences while being part of a supportive and dynamic organisation that values continuous improvement and fosters professional growth., As the Central Merchandising Manager at Sainsbury's, you will play a pivotal role in improving and optimising decision-making throughout the "Plan, Buy, and Sell / Move" cycles of product. This newly created position requires you to work closely with Category and Supply Chain teams, establishing effective relationships with key stakeholders and utilising facts and insights to influence and challenge others. Your responsibilities will include developing and embedding new product lifecycle frameworks, contributing to analysis and reporting on availability and stock holding, improving the forecasting process, and leading specific projects and workstreams. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance existing tools, processes, and reporting related to forecasting, buying, and stock management. As a manager, you will have the opportunity to build and develop a new team, establishing them as a Merchandising centre of excellence, while also deputising for the Head

of Central Merchandising when required. Your ability to balance short and long-term objectives, display commercial acumen, analyse complex data, and problem-solve in a complex organisational structure will be essential in driving successful outcomes and delivering desired customer outcomes., Knowledge of systems and processes in a complex multi-channel environment, able to balance short and long-term objectives to deliver plans
Have strong experience/proven track record of Merchandise Planning, Assortment Planning and Stock Management
How to display a high degree of commercial acumen and decision making, relying on experiences and a track record of commercial successes within this or other organisations
Analysis of complex data from multiple sources to support strong and timely commercial decisions and strategies, role modelling similar behaviours across the broader team
Ability to work & problem solve cross-functionally in a complex organisational structure, prioritising and managing multiple tasks
Desire to build a new team and establish them as a Merchandising centre of excellence
Role model change agility and resilience for the Central Merchandising team at all times
A focus on Customer - making decisions that support delivery of desired customer outcomes
