CAD Technician

Ashford Orthodontics is the UK's No.1 Orthodontics Laboratory. The company are investing significantly in advanced manufacturing and are looking for CAD technicians responsible for nesting, dental model creation and manufacturing to the required company and industry standards. Candidates with existing 3D printing & additive manufacturing experience are highly desirable. No dental experience is required but it is an advantage.

The CAD Technician role will entail the following:

• Preparing and Nesting models in preparation for 3D printing


• Produce high quality dental models using CAD software


• Modifying customers' dental scans to generate a design reflective of their requirements


• Improve and update dental models using 3D CAD software


• Make amendments and/or corrections to 3D models as needed to deliver client satisfaction


• Take instructions and apply to the 3D models, layouts, drawings and designs


• Produce computer-generated reports and presentations


• Assist in the production of project quotations


• Liaise with clients


• Organise and prepare 3D data


• Undertake any other reasonable duties
  
  At a minimum, basic design/draughting experience using 3D software


• The ability to read and interpret instructions accurately.


• Ability to manage time and work to tight deadlines


• Ability to work on you own initiative as well as in a team environment


• The ability to react quickly to any changes in the specification of the design


• Close attention to detail


• Proactive and flexible approach


• CAD/CAM experience is an advantage, 3D Printing: 1 year (preferred)


• 3D modeling: 1 year (preferred)


Licence/Certification:

• Valid GDC registration (preferred)
