Full Job Description
Neal Jones Furniture in Lancaster are recruiting for an Apprentice Bespoke Furniture Maker, the successful candidate will work towards a Level 2 Furniture Manufacturing qualification.,
- Reporting to the Workshop Manager, and working alongside the team of experienced and highly skilled furniture makers, and wider team such as designers and technical draughts people
- Learn the techniques and methods of making components and how to assemble furniture. Learning jointing methods, gluing-up, lamination, veneer and wood selection, material selection
- Learn about prototyping, jigs and templates, incorporating work by others such as glass, metal, stone
- Learn to read and interpret technical drawings to make furniture: tables, chairs, cabinets, for homes and superyachts
- Learning to work with accuracy and precision, whilst understanding high quality expectations need to be met
- Will be taught how to use a variety of hand and power tools, as well as larger woodworking machines
- Admin duties like ordering materials, glues, screws for the workshop
- Stock keeping of materials used
Functional Skills Maths and English, Organisation skills, Problem solving skills, Analytical skills, Team working, Creative, Initiative, GCSE or equivalent Maths/English (Grade 4) Desired
Specialists in bespoke and semi-bespoke luxury furniture design & manufacturing for marine, commercial & residential properties.
You could reduce your training time, or finish your apprenticeship faster, if you have relevant prior learning or experience. This could be relevant: - training
